This class will focus on six critical areas: (1) establishing criteria for congruence of triangles; (2) establishing criteria for similarity of triangles; (3) expressing geometric properties with equations including conic sections; (4) explaining volume formulas and using them to solve 2D and 3D problems; (5) proving basic geometric theorems about lines, angles, triangles, parallelograms, and polygons; and (6) explaining independence and conditional probability including compound events. Each day’s class will include the teaching of concepts, the demonstration of sample problems, example problems for the students to solve, a mini-quiz, and homework for the next class meeting.
